Scott Bourget - Owner/Instructor

Scott began his martial arts training in the 1980's, He trained for several years, and his passion for the art grew. He soon knew that he needed more out of the art than what he was getting. Realizing this, he searched abroad. Discovering a little Dojo in Noda Chiba, Japan, he found what he was looking for.

Scott began his martial arts training in the 1980's, He trained for several years, and his passion for the art grew. He soon knew that he needed more out of the art than what he was getting. Realizing this, he searched abroad. Discovering a little Dojo in Noda Chiba, Japan, he found what he was looking for.

Scott travels to Japan frequently to train with Ishizuka Sensei and Kacem Zoughari. He also attends various seminars around the United States to further his studies. 

Scott decided to open the Chikuri Dojo due to his passion to teach others the true essence of classical Japanese martial arts.

Chikuri Dojo is dedicated to providing a top notch experience in safety, cleanliness, and the practice of age old teachings. Students will challenge themselves physically, mentally, and spiritually. We strive to raise the confidence and self esteem in all of our students though the study of these ancient classical arts.

Chikuri Dojo is dedicated to providing a top notch experience in safety, cleanliness, and the practice of age old teachings. Students will challenge themselves physically, mentally, and spiritually. We strive to raise the confidence and self esteem in all of our students though the study of these ancient classical arts. 

When you enter the dojo you will enter into a foreign but clean, safe and peaceful place. 

In the dojo you will find traditional Tatami mats, authentic weaponry, antique furnishings and much more. The dojo will also offer a variety of events that emphasize Japanese art & culture. (Events will be open to the public.)

Our Philosophy

The way to experience ultimate happiness is to let go of all worries and regrets and know that being happy is the most satisfying feeling. Happiness is waiting there in front of you. Only you can decide whether or not you choose to experience it. 

Dojo Rules & Guidelines

  1.  All students must abide by the rules and guidelines as set by the Bujinkan Honbu Dojo in Japan and the Bujinkan Chikuri Dojo. Guidelines can be found online. (https://www.bujinkan.com/guidelines.htm )  Please read carefully.                                  
  2. Students are required to be courteous, act responsibly, have proper hygiene, and follow instructions from the teacher while in the dojo. 
  3. The training in the dojo is non-competitive. Students are encouraged to pursue their training with a balance of body, mind and spirit.   
  4. Please arrive 15 minutes before class starts. 
  5. Students who are unable to follow these rules and guidelines will be asked to leave the dojo.

Open Classes

These classes are "pay-as-you-go".

Junan Taiso and Tanren

Adults only $10.00 per class

(Free for members)


Junan Taiso is a Japanese form of yogic techniques for stretching and controlled breathing and is intended to condition the body.

Tanren is a Japanese form of exercises designed to strengthen the body.

Martial Arts Classes

Adults $20.00 per class

Youth $15.00 per class


Pay-as-you-go classes follow the same weekly schedule time
