What to expect

Scott Bourget - Owner/Instructor

Scott began his martial arts training in the 1980's, He trained for several years, and his passion for the art grew. He soon knew that he needed more out of the art than what he was getting. Realizing this, he searched abroad. Discovering a little Dojo in Noda Chiba, Japan, he found what he was looking for.

Scott travels to Japan frequently to train with Ishizuka Sensei and Kacem Zoughari. He also attends various seminars around the United States to further his studies.

Scott decided to open the Chikuri Dojo due to his passion to teach others the true essence of classical Japanese martial arts.

Classical Dojo

Chikuri Dojo is dedicated to providing a top notch experience in safety, cleanliness, and the practice of age old teachings. Students will challenge themselves physically, mentally, and spiritually. We strive to raise the confidence and self esteem in all of our students though the study of these ancient classical arts.

When you enter the dojo you will enter into a foreign but clean, safe and peaceful place.

In the dojo you will find traditional Tatami mats, authentic weaponry, antique furnishings and much more. The dojo will also offer a variety of events that emphasize Japanese art & culture. (Events will be open to the public.)

Our Philosophy

The way to experience ultimate happiness is to let go of all worries and regrets and know that being happy is the most satisfying feeling. Happiness is waiting there in front of you. Only you can decide whether or not you choose to experience it.
